Re: [DTXpress] What Host?

2001-04-23 by Jules Freeman

Hi,
Thanks for replying, I have my Korg X5D connected to one of the serial ports but I had to install
the Korg driver before my system could see it as a MIDI interface. I am using Cubase VST 5/32
as my sequencer, but that only shows a list of available ports that are configured for MIDI, i.e the sound
card MPU401 port, the Korg PCIF port. The MPU401 which you mentioned earlier is already in use
by my sampler. It would seem to me that you have come up with a solution in the Roland Driver, I
will try that.
Thanks for taking the time to write to me,
Cheers

The driver is usually contained in your sequencing software. You should be able to select serial port as one of your MIDI In - Out Devices. If not, you can download Roland's Serial driver from their web site. It should interface with your sequencing software and appear in your Midi mapper under windows.
Good luck

PS - by the way, if you have a sound card, most of them have a built in MIDI interface that is part of the "game controller port". You can get a cable that allows you to attach both standard MIDI cables and a game controller to the port at the same time.
