There is a menu item under the utilities that will swap out input 1 with
9/10 made just for the purpose you describe. Just move the KP65+tom5 to
input 9/10 and the crash to input 1. The signal coming from physical input
no.1(crash) will be redirected to input 9 and the signal coming from
physical input no. 9 (kick)  will be redirected to input no. 1.
 
If you were not having any crosstalk problems before you moved the TP65,
then it is probably from having to hit the Zenbal harder that is causing the
crosstalk now. You may have to just set the specific rejection between the
hihat input 8 and the snare input 2 or move the hihat pad to the alternate
mounting location on the mounting tube with the module. You will have to
setup input no. 10 and set it for the correct pad type and set the rejection
settings based on where you mount the pad on the rack.
 
As far as it not being loud enough, have you tried to adjust the volume for
the pad higher, or tried changing the velocity curve?  I don't believe their
is a attenuation switch for that input on the back of the module. Is there a
sensitivity adjustment screw on the Zenbal, like there is on the Yamaha
pads?
 
I don't have the manual in  front of me, so I can't give a more precise
answer than that until later tonight.

Let me give you the before and after on my mission here.

I just bought a Pintech Zenbal single zone High Hat to replace the 
TP65 Yamaha pad that came with the set (I didn't like the unnatural 
feeling and shape of the TP65). I now want to use the TP65 as 
another Tom.  Currently, Input 9/10 is being used for another Crash 
cymbal I bought separately.  Hence, all of the inputs behing the 
module are populated.  Because the end result of this upgrade is 
that I've added one pad to my configuration, the only place it can 
plug into is the input jack on the KP kick pedal.  The instructions 
say to utilize that, a cable from the output on the KP MUST connect 
to Input 9/10 on the module.  To do this, I must now unplug the KP 
cable from Input 1 and move it to Input 9/10 to get that extra Tom 
working.  However, that also means I have to unplug the current 
crash cymbal in Input 9/10.  I still want to use that as well, but 
the only available Input now is Input 1 (the now-empty labeled Kick).

My questions are:

1.  How do I permanently "remap" Input 1 (labeled Kick) to now be a 
Crash Cymbal.  By permanent, I don't mean just creating my own kit 
and storing it as Kit #49 or #50.  I mean, if I chose to play kit 
type "Big Reverb" the crash cymbal would make a cymbal noise - not a 
bass drum noise that the module thinks is connected to it.  I'm sure 
there's a way to do a permanent remap - I just don't understand how 
to do it.

2.  I kind of know how to configure Input 9/10 now to be both a bass 
drum and a tom, but I have the same kind of question.  How do I 
permanently remap that configuration so if I chose to use a canned 
pre-set kit type, like Big Reverb or Rock Dry 2, the module will 
play a bass drum sound when I kick - not a Cymbal.

3.  My new Pintech high-hat is, out-of-the-box, very quiet and I 
have to hit it hard to get a decent sound out of it.  How do I 
manipulate that non-Yamaha cymbal to produce a nice heavy Hi-hat 
sound without having to swing hard at it.

4.  I'm also getting a fair-amount of cross talk when hitting the 
new hi-hat.  I'm hearing the newly added Tom (TP65) and the snare 
drum as well when striking the Hi-hat.  I think there are some 
rejection settings there that may work for this, but it's unclear.
