DTX2 Module: New and Old

2004-10-19 by Tom

I saw this ad for a DTX2 Module here: http://www.harmony-
central.com/Drums/EDW/modules.html

It is described as follows:

Yamaha DTX 2.0 NEW [website is copyrighted 1998]
Voices - 1044, fully editable
Drum Sets - 64, 32 user programmable and 32 preset
Trigger Inputs - 12, (8 stereo + 2 stereo piezo split) Also 1 Hi-hat
and 1 foot switch
Built In Sequencer - YES
Hi-Hat Nuance CV - Full
Cymbal Choke Capabilities - YES
User Adjustable Effects Processor - YES

I suppose in most ways the new DTX III module would be superior to
this one. How would the two compare?

I just recieved an offer to buy a DTX2module with some Pintech drums
for a cost about equal to what a new DTXIII kit would cost. The
seller bought the kit new in 2000. I'm thinking it's probably the
old module, but I'm not sure yet. I asked him via email but haven't
heard back yet. I am shopping for a used kit which will be my
first edrum kit. If the module is the old one, I don't think it
would be such a great deal.
