Re: Hart dropouts

2004-12-13 by drumsonly2002

I have had the dreaded drop out problem with my DTXTreme-2. I am a
hard hitter and my snare was dropping notes. With the xtreme rubber
pads there is an adjustment for the pad, a small black dial on the
back. I had it turned up, thus making the peizo hot. It was
recommended to have it turned down. After turning it down no
problems what so ever. My theory is the Hart pads are too hot, and
somehow the note gets dropped when playing hard. If the pizeo could
be "turned down" somehow, and lessen it's strength, I think that
will cure the snare dropping out problem. Believe me when I say
initially that problem was very annoying esepically live. Turning my
adjustable pad down cured it. I hope this helps. As far as
triggering goes with the dial turned down, every single note light
or hard gets played. Amazing dynamics. I had my kit running through
2 x 400 watt powered speakers and a sub and no problems with
dropping notes.
