The DTX v1 module/kit is the earliest of the Yamaha e-drum entries. Its eventual position was intermediate between the DTXpress and the first DTXtreme, which shared the KP-80 with it. Its module was far more elaborate than that of the DTXpress, with an interface that was larger, more elaborate, and easier to use than the DTXpress. Many thought this module to be the feather in Yamaha's cap--particularly, the v2.0--all things considered. It was much closer in looks and features to the first DTXtreme module than to the baby of the bunch. You see it on ebay now and then for around $200. It can certainly function as a second module, and arguably as a first despite its age. Ed
