Re: Hart dropouts

2004-12-16 by vl2000_us

OK, here is where things stand with the drop out issue. I pulled the
gains down pretty substantially on all the Hart drums. Right now
most of my programmed kits have gain set as follows:

Yamaha toms 1 thru 4: all set at 32

Yamaha Snare: mostly set at 45, some kits its higher because I use
that snare mostly for special snare voices, special F/X, etc

Hart toms: 7 of them (8 thru 12 inch) set at 35 with very tight heads
and one of the 8 inch toms is set to 48 because it just seems less
sensitive than the others

Hart Snare: this is my main snare and is now set at 45

I've not changed any of my rejection settings at this time and still
have all heads very tight.

Output volume from the DTXrememe IIs brain has been raised to
compensate for the lower gain settings.

Tuesday nite practice no dropouts, but we were at a lower volume
overall. Sunday we have practice with our male frontperson, and we
are usually louder cuz he's half friggin deaf :-)

Any remaining dropouts should surface sunday. Will report back
then. I do think this gain may have been an important part of the
solution, along with rejection settings, head tension, etc.

Good luck everyone...
