Just went through this, so here's what I did.

I'm using Axis Longboard Double Pedals. These are the absolute best
pedals I have ever used. However, I ran into a problem trying to fit
them on my KP65 because of how the Axis' are made (offset to the
left). Ed at Drumbalaya hooked me up with a KP120 (real head family)
with a mesh head. It works great. Great response and great feel.
It's 12 inches diameter so the beaters fit comfortably.

Since you have upgrade-itis, let me throw a couple of sticks in the
fire...

I added RHP120 as a second snare to the left of the HH and assigned
some timbale sounds to it. I picked the RHP because it's true 2-
zone. Love it...

Also added a BP-80 bar with percussion sounds.

Finally, added an extra PCY130.

Also, as soon as I figure out where to physically place it, I'm
adding another pedal on the leftover KP65 so I can have an alternate
bass drum sound.

By the way, kudos again to Ed and his staff at Drumbalaya. They
answered every question I had and are truly the best edrum dealers.
