Hi there, Yes, email the guy straight away with any and all your questions and concerns. Like said I suppose it could be a bad power supply. I'd think that it's rated well enough @ 3amps, but could be putting out less. Is the display well lit? Dim? If bright as star then maybe ok. But you could always go to Wall-Mart, K-Mart, Radio Shack & pick up a power supply or two (TODAY or the next). Maybe even one with switchable voltages & a set of multi-plugs. Try to get to the closest rating you can. I would prefer to have THE Yamaha one, just because. I would also check with a 2nd pair of headphones, OR be SURE the phones are ok. Have you tried the stereo L/R OUTS on the back of the module yet with something? Check those! Maybe there IS a problem, but only the headphone outs? I'd think that the headphone outs would have their own output amp & the stereo L/R out should be line voltage, so I'd try the L/R stereo outs on those powered speakers you spoke of, or to an amp, stereo system, PA etc...
