Gain is the parameter that shows up in percentage. Minimum velocity is just a straight numerical setting. Once you're in the trigger menu for the hi hat, adjust gain to read 40%. But always feel free to experiment if it doesn't suit you. 2. The controller can be used as a kick but only in input 1, I think; set it up under pad type in the trigger menu. You still need a stereo cable. Maybe you can split the kick input and get a double bass that way. If you try it, let me know whether it works. OGD's tried nearly everything with the Yamaha equipment, so he may know. Congratulations on the 120S. Ed
