Greetings Richard, From the beginning, I never used the TP65 pad for the hihat, instead using a PCY65S, which gave me both pad/rim voices and more movement. The RHH-130 pad itself doesn't move and is fairly rigid. Only the center rod that is attached to the standard hihat stand actually moves. I prefer the feel of using the standard hihat stand, as oppose to the HH65 pedal, as you can adjust the tension of the pedal and it just feels more natural. You can use the PCY150S on inputs 2,6 or 7 on the Dtxpress II and III modules and get three zones, bell/bow/edge, as well as, choking. Has anyone had experience of the new RHH-130 Hi Hat that comes with the DXTpress III & DTXtreme IIs? If so how does it perform by comparison with the standard, tom pad driven, set up on the standard DTXpress III (which I find very hard to play properly - could be a technique issue)? I have been trying to use downstroke/upstroke technique on my standard set up & owing to the pads shape & lack of rim switch it just sounds pants. Apparently the RHH-130 has dual region switching so it should be more suitable for this technique. Also can the new PCY 150S tripple zone cymbal be used in both the crash & ride sockets of the DTXpress brain & if so will choking still be supported? Any advice would be much appreciated.
