Talking about false triggering............my brother and I
were jamming (he plays an electric Hammond B3, the model I forget) and I
increased the gain on one of the tom pads and when he struck a certain note on
the keyboard, that pad would fire.

Antonis,
Welcome to the club. Such crosstalk is a common occurrence, and
Yamaha addresses its remedy in the manual, which you should consult,
poorly organized and written as it is. The hits on your hi hat and
tom3 are creating vibrations along the rack that cause other pads to
trigger sympathetically. By adjusting the rejection and specific
rejection numbers, as well as those for gain and minimum velocity, in
the Trigger Edit Mode for the reactive pads, you should be able to
mitigate the problem. But be sure to adjust these parameters only to
the bare extent that they eliminate the crosstalk; don't just settle
on a high or low number. The cure can be worse than the disease: Bad
programming can make pads refuse to fire under ordinary conditions.
So look in the index under the terms that I've mentioned and get back
to us if you need further help deciphering what they mean and how
they operate.
