The factory reset should have cleared out anything that was reprogrammed. I believe this module had an auto-detect of pad types. After you did a factory reset, did you turn the unit off? Try unplugging all the pads. Turn the unit on. Do a factory reset. Turn the unit off. Now just plug in one pad to the tom1 input that you know for sure works. Turn the unit on. What happens then. If it still doesn't work, you could open up the module and see if the jack inside the module is loose or has a broken connection. Also, email the person you bought it from and ask if they had any problems with that input.
