OGD and Keith,

The special notice is an excellent idea. I wish we'd had the sense to 
think of it sooner. Keith, what do you think about me and OGD sending 
out a survey to all members about their interest--their willingness 
to buy--the magic box at $100 or so?  Maybe you won't want to wait 
for this data, especially since we have no guarantee that members 
will respond in force, even if they like what you've done. Our last 
and only special notice, when we took over the site, had a pretty 
good response rate (didn't it?), but it took a while to collate the 
replies. But if you think it worth a try, we'll do it. Ed Morin, as a 
member will eventually see it, but I would prefer that a special 
notice to members not be his re-introduction to this matter.  I could 
email him separately, or OGD could. Should we think about it 
overnight?
