Hi!
I prettied up my kit by neatly running the cables from the pads to the brain box, and then tying them down to the rack with cable ties.
Now, I'm in a situation where I need to use three of my TP80S pads and the brain box independent from the rest of the system. It would be a pain to undo all of the pretty cable routing in order to recover the cables for those three pads.
I have a supply of mono (Tip/Sleeve) instrument cables. I don't need the rim functions for what I am doing.
Can I safely use the mono instrument cables with the TP80S pads? I would think that the longer sleeve would place a short between the Ring and Sleeve positions in the "stereo"; Tip/Ring/Sleeve jacks in the pad and the brain box. As I recall, the brain box isn't bothered by this but I'm not so sure about the pads.
My brain box is a DTX V1 by the way\u03370;
