Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

After 18 months of using the DTXpress I thought I'd exhausted all the 
tweaks - (and still I couldn't get a decent tom sound!)... then 
yesterday I found this group and the brilliant DTXpressions site - a 
few downloads and reading through messages later I feel recharged!

Incidentally it has taken me this long to work out a decent amp and 
monitors setup (currently QSC and EV and a LA signal proceesing 
unit) - which also cost 3 times the price of the kit!  Are there any 
recommendations on this for future reference because for a few months 
I was burning out Ohm wedges and EV Eliminators (to great 
embarrassment all round) until we upped the spec of amp and speakers. 
(I only play smallish places).
