I think what you are asking is can you change the sound without changing any settings. Ok I am still a learner, but this is how I am doing it. You layer the voices with the 2 different snare sounds, as the velocity of the hit increases the sounds will go from one layer to the other. I have done it on a cymbal so you get a bell sound as well as the normal cymbal sound.
