How real??

How real??

2001-06-17 by aiwa1608@hotmail.com

Hi,
I'm thinking about getting a DTXpress set, but I've got one question.
When you hit a pad is it always the same sound, or does it depends on
how hard you hit the pad and maybe where you hit it (like a acoustic
set).

Depends on how you want the pad to react, but you can
adjust it from one extreme of sensitivity to another.
Just like an accoustic drum

Thank for the answer.

When you make a break, you want the snare to sound a little bit
different (harder). Is this possible without adjusting anything while
you're playing. Because during a gig you can't turn the knobs every
time (during a song).

I think what you are asking is can you change the
sound without changing any settings.
Ok I am still a learner, but this is how I am doing
it. You layer the voices with the 2 different snare
sounds, as the velocity of the hit increases the
sounds will go from one layer to the other. I have
done it on a cymbal so you get a bell sound as well as
the normal cymbal sound. The Snare setting I have a
snappy sound on top of a big sound which is a really
nice live copy.
