For starters, you can try another cable and, if the problem persists, 
clean the contact inside the jack (a Q-tip with WD-40 would work). If 
worst comes to worst, you can open up the cymbal and check for loose 
wires, cracked solder (sometimes people resolder even without evidence 
of cracking, because it's not always visible), etc. Take a look at 
OGD's dissected pics of the cymbal's interior in our Photo section for 
a view of what you might encounter. To rule out the unlikely event 
that something is seriously wrong with the input electronically, try 
another component in it.
