is the DIP the thing you had me change on the back of the module with a screwdriver, because even though its still set up, i didn't notice any difference at all and i had my headphones on and did a before and after stroke. i still have not changed the trigger inputs to reflect the pintech because it is complicated and for some reason everytime i change one, i change them all. you had advised me to save on d10/20, but i read thats for acoustic drum triggers. this pintech is obnoxious and ed at drumbalaya is gonna make me an offer on a trade it, or there is a pd-80 on ebay for 98 bucks in a couple of hours frank still the man ed emf <liberatusvirus@...> wrote: --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, frank celauro <fjcelauro@y...> wrote: > thanks again man, but do the rloland's have it? i dont think do right? The Roland meshes have foam columns; Roland was the first major company to use them. Pintechs began as Roland-compatibles. They are made in Rolands' image, and Pintech pays Roland a licensing fee to make its own woven heads for use with a center-mounted, foam-based piezo. Even though most mesh pads are in the Roland style, they do not all trigger the same way. Most of the modules on the market have enough sensitivity control to handle whatever users throw at them. Although Yamaha modules are a little sensitivity-challenged with other companies' pads, they can accommodate many of the simple ones fairly well. But certain piezo placements in other companies' components don't allow enough signal on Yamaha's terms, a few of them incorrigibly. The Pintechs require flipping the DIP switch to boost the signal, but unfortunately past the middle ground. Hence, the pot. It's entirely possible that the Yamaha module will be more forgiving a Roland mesh head (though probably not the rim), but IMO the price is prohibitive.
