Well if you want a really good kick trigger, and don;t mind spending money. You can get a Pintech CKV bass trigger. It rocks, its just like hitting a normal acoustic bass drum. The one down from that is also good, called the Vk-10 its a lot less noisy and even nicely folds down so it can lie perfectly flat and it has a big strinkign area for double bass drum pedal. The response is also good ,and never misses triggers, which was one annoyance I foudn with the awful yamaha one, they really shoudl redesign it, its a big failure of a good kit.
