Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi,

I had the chance to briefly try a Roland mesh pad on my DTXpress
yesterday and noticed it was very easy to do a drum roll, something I
find difficult on the DTXpress and DTXtreme pads (I have the 10"
DTXtreme pad for my snare).  Is it just me being a cr@p drummer, or is
this just the problem of rubber versus mesh?

Having seen the price of a 10" Roland pad I am not going to rush out
and buy one, but noticed that the Pintech Concert Cast 10" dual zone
is not too bad a price.  Will that perform similarly to the Roland?
