Re: Midi Sync

2005-11-11 by zapaxe

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you with my clutter about Cubase :)

I often have similar issues, in that I've done something before, but
can't make it work at a later date because I'm doing the wrong thing
over & over!

You say you have to set 2 or 3 pages???? Now I'm confused! :o I
simply set my DTXpress module to midi CH 10, General Midi after
setting up my Cubase midi ins/outs.

It sounds like you may be recording midi ok into Cakewalk, or are
you using pre-made midi drum beats? Either way, do you have a way of
playing back the midi drums other than using your DTXpress module? A
Drum program/sampler etc..? Or even General Midi from your sound
card? I ask only to check to make sure that the problem is within
your DTXpress module hook-up/set-up...simple deduction my dear
Watson. If your midi timing is off still then you know where NOT to
look. If your computer plays the midi in time in this way, then it's
back to the module.

But as recall correctly, you said that when you play back the midi
within Cakewalk, it triggers your DTXpress module to start playing
as if you've pressed the 'play' button...?

Have you considered innitializing (resetting) your DTXpress module
as LAST resort?..Before selling it :o
