Re: Midi Sync

2005-11-13 by zapaxe

Mr. Ed,
Whaaaa???? :O ... Having a DTXpressI AND DTXpressIII module myself,
BOTH of my modules have a 'To Host' switch located, if you have a
DTXpressII module, then it HAS to have a To Host switch, just HAS
to!..Or my name isn't Steve, or was is John, Dick,..or maybe
Harry?...Unless you have a different moodule???
Anyway, if you open you manly manual, page 9 in my case for both the
DTXpress I & III modules...Just under the Ride & Tom 1/4" jacks,
there's a switch that's labled "Host Select" (marked by #26
encircled in the manual). Switch selections are, from left to right
facing the rear view, [Midi, PC-2, PC-1, Mac]. (Oposte if facing
your module haed on mounted in the rack - Yeah, I made that mistake
myself!)
If you are using standard Midi Cables, then your switch should be
set to the Midi position...I use PC-1 as I'm using a 'single' Mini
Dim to D-Sub 9-pin serial cable connected 'directly' to my computer
(which needs a Yamaha CBX driver to use)instead of using the two
standard midi cables...Btw, that Midi Dim port on the DTXpress
module is just to the right of that 'Host Select' switch.

As I said, not sure that's your particular problem, but well worth
checking, as well as making sure you don't have a faulty Midi Cable
as mmentioned by the other guy. Leave NO stone un-turned! ...One
thing at a time, starting with cables, switches, then all
settings...and midi channel 10 recieve on the DTXpress, unless you
want horn sounds to play :/

Steve
