Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I have been playing my set for over half a year  without "protection."
 I have a 2 year warranty on the set. Do you think I should  Keep
playing like it is until it wears out, and hope that happens before
warranty runs out, or put a patch on A.S.A.P?

My fear with the latter is that it will only extend the life of it a
little beyond warranty ends, since I've been beating the crap out of
for this long w/o the patch.
