What is the solution for kick pad wearing?

What is the solution for kick pad wearing?

2006-02-08 by alexliu1973

I have been reading about the subject problem this group. I wonder if I
can find out the most appropriate protection solution preventing the
pre-mature wear. A drum patch as suggested?

Many thanks!!!

Thanks. I put a EVANS patch on this weekend. It seems working okay.

OK, I've never seen anything like that before. Aren't they for huge
bass drums, whereas the KP65 is weeny. Are they sticky backed, so you
buy one and then cookie cutter out a lifetime's supply of KP65
patches?

I presume they don't help with the normal Yamaha pads.

I have been playing my set for over half a year without "protection."
I have a 2 year warranty on the set. Do you think I should Keep
playing like it is until it wears out, and hope that happens before
warranty runs out, or put a patch on A.S.A.P?

My fear with the latter is that it will only extend the life of it a
little beyond warranty ends, since I've been beating the crap out of
for this long w/o the patch.

 thanks!
