RE: Spam:[DTXpress] DTXpress III hihat upgrade Q.

2006-06-06 by Damon, Rob

You could use the RHH130 (comes with the Special) on a remote cable
hihat.

Before I upgraded to the Dtxtreme IIS, I used a PCY65S pad on a cymbal
arm instead of the TP65 pad for my hihat. There was more give to it. At
the time I had two Dtxpress modules and put a PCY10 bell pad on top of
the PCY65S pad and through a little cable splitting/combining made a
true three zone hihat pad (bell/pad/edge) that was controlled by a
single HH65 pedal. I described this in detail here in the group, but it
goes back several years.

Subject: Spam:[DTXpress] DTXpress III hihat upgrade Q.

Okay, don't have my DTXpress III yet, but I'm thinking about upgrades
already. I like the rack-mounted hihat pad that comes on the Roland
kits, but I've heard that people have had limited success getting them
to function with the DTXIII module. Are there any alternative hihat
pads that I can mount on the rack like the stock one, preferably with
edge triggers? I'd consider the 3-zone TP-65S, but I'm concerned
about the rim wear, plus, it doesn't look like a hihat pad. Even
though the hihat/stand that comes with the III SP probably would be
ideal, I don't want to use a separate hihat stand.
