Tony,

Traditionally, Yamaha hi hats have required a special adapter that
changes polarity, among other things, for use with Roland modules.
I'd be surprised if the RHH 130 works with the TD-20 without help.
You could check with Ed Morin at Drumbalaya, or one of his staff; you
should be aware of Drumbalaya, anyway. This store produces its own
adapter for predicaments like yours and routinely tests for component
compatibility.

I should also mention a little trick involving a little device dubbed
the "Shack adapter" at the Roland board (vdrums.com)--a stereo-to-
mono connector available at Radio Shack for about $3.00 (part # 274-
1520C). I've never had occasion to try it, but people swear by it.
Just plug the stereo end of the adapter into the the hi-hat
controller; the mono cable plugs into the adapter on one end and the
Roland module's high-hat jack on the other end. If all goes according
to plan, the Yamaha hi hat thereby adjusts to Roland demands.
