Is this a "trigger type" issue or something else > going on. Chris, Unfortunately, the Yamaha DTXpress module is not as sensitive to rim hits as main pad hits. I have never quite worked out why they have made it that way. On my early, rather complex DTXpander I added some gain to the rim pad to compensate. Two suggestions: 1) swap the tom & cymbal over and see if that helps. You can then also bypass the series diode on the cymbal input to increase the cymbal level a little which may also help. 2) check to see if you have an adjustemnt pot on the cymbal itself - mine do - try adjusting it. I am assuming you have played around with the Gain and MVEL in the trigger menu? What percentage are you getting on the trigger edit menu from the two pads? Keith.
