Re: dtxplorer amplification

Geoff,

I have a similar powered speaker from Thomann "The Box" which has a
15" bass speaker and 200W to the bass and 100W to the tweeter I think.
It seems loud enough, but it does clip due to the bass when cranked
up. It doesn't seem to do any harm and sounds ok, but the clip light
flashes. It seems that the bass soaks up a fair bit of power before
it sounds "too" loud. So, depending on how deep your pockets are and
what type of music you play, you might need to look for a bit more
power for the bass unit. I just educated the guitarists to turn
their's down.

Having recently bought an acoustic kit, one thing I noticed is that
the acoustic kit is way louder than I can get my DTXpress through the
amp/speaker, but then that is serious earplug territory.

Keith.
