Premature choking is usually a technique problem.  You need to hit the
cymbals cleanly on the main area or the rim.  Changing the angle of
the cymbals usually helps, but you need to develop a technique for
playing e-cymbals.  

There may be some specific issues due to the cymbals being Pintech
ones.  I assume they have a rim switch and are not dual piezo?  I am
not sure if they are over-sensitive, but if so it may be worthwhile
turning down the gain pot on the cymbal if it has one.  If it doesn't,
you could try altering the trigger settings (the DTXpress IV doesn't
have the attenuator switches of the earlier DTXpress models).

Selecting different pad types in the trigger menu might help.  Also,
turning down the gain in the trigger menu could help.  Increasing the
self rejection time (TRG5) would also be worth trying.

A final option if the pads are too sensitive and all the above doesn't
work is to add a pot to the pad to tame it.
