If you don't know for certain that the Pintech cymbals use a rim
switch (I suspect they don't) then it would be worthwhile checking
with Pintech, or your instructions that came with the cymbals. 
Reading here:
http://forum.pintechworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=49 suggests that the
dual zone Pintech pads need to be used with a Y splitter and use two
inputs. This is certainly true of the Concertcast snare I have, so it
could also be true of the cymbals.  If you are using a stereo cable
and plugging the cymbals into one input it would certainly explain the
problems you are getting.
