I think I want a bistable flip flop arrangement so it present the 'closed' resistance to the module when a 'button' has been pressed (i.e. I've dropped the clutch) but resets to normal operation next time the pedal is pressed.  Does that sound likely? I've not managed to get a meter on the pedal yet to figure out what it does at different pedal positions.
