Thanks for your reply, Keith. I have the DTXpress III Special kit which came with the RHH130. Both cables that are being used by the hi-hat are stereo and both work equally when I swap them out with other stereo cables. I have followed the instructions on how to set up the hi-hat as well as I can, going over the process repeatedly. So I can only assume it's done correctly. I'll give the HH Offs adjustment and try and see how that goes. --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "keith1200rs" <keith@...> wrote: > > --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "b33m4n" <beezorz@> wrote: > > > > Even though I've got it set to "SP Med" and the pad is set to "RHH", the only sounds that I can get from my hi-hat are the closed sounds. > > > > I've taken the hi-hat cord and plugged it into the ride, leaving the hi-hat controller cord where it is, and still cannot get a closed sound. I've disassembled my RHH 130 and everything appears to be in order (all cords are plugged in and all parts are where they should be). > > > > The only way that I can produce a closed sound is if I leave the hi-hat cord almost completely unplugged, just barely dangling in the jack. Assuming you have done that, and tried swapping cables to make sure you haven't a faulty one, there are a couple of other possibilities (I am only surmising as I don't have the RHH). You need to get the hi-hat physically set up correctly, as explained in the instruction leaflet. I am not sure how good the instructions are, but I believe it is possible to get it physically set up so nothing happens (as you are experiencing), presumably because the hi-hat control is at one extreme of the adjustment. > > The other possibility is the hi-hat control settings in the module. There is an offset adjustment (HH Offs) in the trigger setting menu which can be set either too high or too low so the pedal does nothing. Zero is usually a good starting point for the value. > > I hope this helps. > > Keith. >
