Re: [DTXpress] Re: problem with dtxpress hihat

2001-11-11 by Ken Anthony

Hi,
The dtxpress standard pedal has full open/full close and
3 interim degrees of semi-open. The sensitivity switch bypasses
the first level. ( it's more of a "let's skip first gear" switch ).

If you're curious, about a year ago I tried to build a smoother pedal.
http://www.rainfall.com/dtxpress/pedal.html - The experiment worked and
I went on to other things but never actually built one.

The standard yamaha pedal is really cheap and uses membrane switches,
which is why is a little tricky to get 'in between'. You can, however, use
any pedal that supports interim levels, provided you wire it correctly.
