That doesn't sound good. The first thing to do it get on to whoever sold it to you. It is difficult to understand what the damage is - a picture would help. There are photos on here of all pads in bits but I wouldn't suggest you do that yet. I have taken them apart -they aren't too tricky although there can be some glue along the front edge where the rim switch is. Keith.
