Hi everyone, just thought i'd update on this The problem was that the Y-Splitter was incorrect, the two mono females went to the tip of the stereo male, and not one to the tip and one to the ring...i made myself a DIY splitter and it works fine. My next project is adding better pads to the kit. I've taken my old acoustic kit, sawn each of the 12" and 13" toms in half, to get 4 snare and tom pads. I've converted one with a Pearl mesh head and a DDrum Red-shot trigger, and it work amazing! Its incredibly sensitive, and a lot easier on the wrists. If anyone wants more details, let me know. Mike
