the pintect vertikick is extremely reliable. I also found that the kick trigger that comes with the roland v-club kit is very reliable as well, its also pretty sensitive for as cheap as it is. Unfortunately you need a bent-shaft beater for it, I don't know if that would be included with it if you bought one. Another thing that works well is if you have a remo tunable practice pad with a pedal mount. Replace the coated head with a mesh one take all of the foam out of it and buy a small hart brand 1/2" trigger and mount it to the mesh head just how the instructions say.
