I had bought a pair of metal gibraltar rack clamps for the front crossbar. After that the rack didn't need a second crossbar. It stands very steady and wobbles very little even when you play hard. I think the lack of stability is because of those flimsy plastic clamps included. The aluminum pipe rack provides plenty of support. I think you should try getting two real rack clamps and try them first. You will probably notice that the gibraltar clamps are easier on set up and tear down. -Joe --- Rolf Baehr <rbaehr@...> wrote: > Hi, > > Has anybody added the extra horizontal cross brace > to their old set?
