I believe just using the regular snare input will not work as it is expecting an FSR-type trigger for the rim. To make an Acupad work, you'd need to see if you can use a true dual-input arrangement which is typically labeled ##/## (I can't remember which one it is on the DTXpress offhand because I don't have one in front of me right now).
