User kit downloads

2002-07-20 by James Sharp

Giles, Walt, & download users!

The files are OK, I was only wondering about the link off the main homepage,
it's quite a good catch all link that's all.
Should be doing some more kits this week y'all. Half useful, half downright
stupid!

Cheers,

Welsh Thunder.

hello everyone,

does anybody have any ideas on where i might be able to get the
Ergokik Compact Kick with Inverted Beater (K3) in the UK? just to
confirm with existing owners or anyone else who has a clue, will this
pedal allow me to link up my existing dtxpress pedal tower (the one
supplied with the kit) providing a double base setup using only the
existing bass drum input. from what i understand this is all possible
and all that i need to do is to get another pedal, like the Ergokik
Compact Kick K3, and a patch cable to link both pedals together. also
im assuming that there is only one type of patch cable (being not
entirely sure what a patch cable is), if not could somebody please
specify what type i will be needing & if possible where they can be
purchased in the UK.

thank you very much for your help, it is much appretiated :)
great group by the way, happy drummin ppl
pete

Hi Scott,
just to folow up, may i ask you how you bulk dump? (i am familiar
with the concept, but never have done it w/this set-up (DTXpress&CW).

Also, during a session yesterday I scrolled manually on the DTX
brain, and it freaked out CW shutting it down!!!!
ERROR!--- the DTX display read stg about overloaded MIDI stg or other.
any experience w/that?

Hi Pete,

I can help with the general questions - but the ones
about where to get these in the UK are beyond what I
can help you with.

You should be able to take what I call a cable and
connect the two pedals together so they go to the same
input.

This is a pretty basic cable - one that combines the
two mono pedals into one mono plug that goes inot the
DTXpress. In techie terms, a mono cable has two wires
in it - one called the tip and one called the ring.
This Y cable takes the tip wires from two plugs and
combines it to one tip on the third plug, then does
the same with the ring wires.

Does that help?

Walt / Jim

Sorry for the late reply - I've been overseas.

There does seem to be a problem with the downloads.
The files are there but Freeserve is not letting me
download them. I'll try and sort it out this w/e.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Strange. Freeserve won't let me download any of the .syx files at
all, and is randomly letting me get other files. I think it's fukked
up.

I found a workaround - if you want the files, go to
http://www.thehearns.fsnet.co.uk/dtxpressions/files and then RIGHT-
CLICK on each one and choose Save Target As..

Seems to work.
