inspiron setup

2002-07-19 by malakies2000

cheers walt, it actually makes sense now, sound as a pound. if
anybody has any info on the UK questions please lemme know if you
can..

also i have another quick question relating to the type of MIDI
cable. i have some old cables but they dont look anything like the
picture on giles' site.. when he says the d-connector does he mean
the serial port? if not what port would i be using on my computer?
perhaps it would be easier if i explained what equipment i have..

1) dell inspiron 8100
2) soundblaster extigy souncard
3) dtxpress kit (obviously!)

the extigy souncard has MIDI in/out sockets on the back and the
laptop has plenty of ports including serial, parallel and USB. could
somebody please briefly explain what MIDI cable i'd need and how
it'll be connected. and also how much you reckon the cables worth,
cos i dont much fancy gettin ripped off!!

thanks alot chaps, much appretiated
pete
