Re: [DTXpress] Kick alternatives

2002-07-26 by Joseph Palacki

If you want something more reliable I've suggested
this to many people before and still swear by it.
Pintech makes a trigger called the "verti kick" I'm
not sure if I have it spelled correctly, but if you
call any good drum shop and ask for it they'll know
what you're talking about. A second and even quiter
option (but a pain to take to gigs in comparison) is
to get a mesh head and an acoustic bass drum piezo
trigger. It takes some tinkering, but is very
reliable an extremely quiet in comparison. You can
get Yamaha's better kick tower that came with the dtx
kit, but those are way too expensive in my mind (about
$50-$70 more than the pintech verti kick). My
personal expirence is the verti kick is the best
option and its wide enough for a double pedal to fit
too. I hope this helps. -Joe
