I want to change the trigger to something more velocity sensitive/reliable and if possible quieter. Has anyone looked into this at all? Thanks Simon

If you want something more reliable I've suggested this to many people before and still swear by it. Pintech makes a trigger called the "verti kick" I'm not sure if I have it spelled correctly, but if you call any good drum shop and ask for it they'll know what you're talking about. A second and even quiter option (but a pain to take to gigs in comparison) is to get a mesh head and an acoustic bass drum piezo trigger. It takes some tinkering, but is very reliable an extremely quiet in comparison. You can get Yamaha's better kick tower that came with the dtx kit, but those are way too expensive in my mind (about $50-$70 more than the pintech verti kick). My personal expirence is the verti kick is the best option and its wide enough for a double pedal to fit too. I hope this helps. -Joe --- astrami <astrami@...> wrote: > I want to change the trigger to something more > velocity > sensitive/reliable and if possible quieter. yeah i'll have to go with joseph on this one,and say that the pintech vertikik's are definately the way to go,i have 2 of them for my e- drum kit,and i love em' they track great, and with very minimal tweaking you can get them to suit your particular playing style.. i run a yamaha kick pedal on each vertikik, but when space is of an issue then i use the double pedal set-up(i use the same set of pedals on both applications of this, just when i'm using 2 seperate kick triggers i split my double pedal up with one pedal on each kick) i do a bit of doublebassing,(tastefully of course)and i can honestly say even when a song calls for even a pretty up tempo-ed doublebassing these kick triggers are right on the $$$$ every time.. if you're considering a vertikik there's one on ebay right now,and it's not going for alot of money ,and it seems to be very clean looking.. check out the link below for the auction page http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=894421480&rd=1 hope this helps, sam(otacon28) --- In DTXpress@y..., "astrami" <astrami@y...> wrote:
