Double pedal compatibility

Anyone out there own a Premier EDP300 pedal? I've never used it with the DTXpress, but if I did, I'm sure it would be totally incompatible, as the clamp mechanism relies on the weight of the bass drum to hold the pedal in place. Any of you folk come across this before? Any solutions or ideas?
