I hear ya Russ - do you have a hard beater or one of
those fluffy ones.  The other potential is to use
something like a mouse pad type of foam over the hard
rubber on the tower - then again, you could keep
supplying your neighbor with enough alcohol so he
stays in a coma, but if he's like me, that could run
into some serious money...
