OH NO!!! NOT THE NEIGHBOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!

2002-09-26 by Russ

I thought it was too good to be true,I had my first complaint about
my e-drums AAAAAAGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
What is the best way to stop the kick pedal vibrating?,it seems to
me that is the only problem that I am causing, foam round the
beater, foam roung the bass pad,or put a few layers of foam under the
whole foot pedal.Any other suggestions.

Hi Russ,

I think I'd vote for the foam under the pedal - I
think the real source of noise if the vibrations
passed down through the floor. Other opinions? Walt

Cheers Walt, the vibration is going throught the concrete floor,I
have layed some towels underneath, the kick pedal,it seems to be alot
better, but I`m gonna try putting some foam and insulating tape round
the beater,I tied putting something soft round it tempory, that was
alot quieter,at least Im thinking of my neighbours,I could have been
a right b*****d and bought an acoustic kit at a fraction of the
price.Seems U just cant win!!!! Russell

I hear ya Russ - do you have a hard beater or one of
those fluffy ones. The other potential is to use
something like a mouse pad type of foam over the hard
rubber on the tower - then again, you could keep
supplying your neighbor with enough alcohol so he
stays in a coma, but if he's like me, that could run
into some serious money...
