Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi

When playing hi-hat 16th notes on the tp60 pad, I can't hold a steady 
rhythm since my sticks usually start bouncing all over the place 
after a while. Anyone have any tips to how to play these? Any insight 
on how to best place the pad... angle, position etc?

I haven't really played this stuff on a acoustic kit, so my general 
technique might be crap, but I was just wondering if there's 
something more I have to take into consideration when playing with a 
rubber pad instead of a hi-hat cymbal.
