Since Liberatusvirus so competently answered the first part of your 
question, I will try to answer the other question: no. At least I 
don't think so. You can copy all the attributes to a different pad in 
the SAME kit. You can, however, when you get a kit just right, copy 
the entire kit to a different position, then do more tweaking to get a 
second kit with, say, the same 'killer snare', but maybe different 
toms or cymbals.
There are so many possibilities, but sometimes a little trickery is 
needed to get there!
