RE: [DTXpress] Roland KD-7 Kick Trigger help us out???--- ideas how to reduce the noise?

2002-12-17 by Herb Ricco

hey,

I can tell you guys from experience that the KD-7 rocks, it eliminates that
clankity clank that the yamaha tower has, and the wobble that goes along
with it if you don't have a pedal that fits....and it feels really good. if
you are thinking of replacing the kick tower with the KD-7 I say go for
it!!!

How about using a Roland KD-7 Kick Trigger Unit instead ? It's working
mechanism is quite different from regular kick pads (dtxpress etc.). Once
you step on the pedal, it goes all the way down the very front and hits the
pad down there. It looks more stable. I dont know if it is compatible with
Dtxpress, or it helps us minimize the noise but...

  Any comments on this ?

I am sending a picture of the KD-7 Kick Trigger Unit.

  Ozan.

Hi maybe first try to play 5 min without you headphone to see from
where the noise came from , if it's a rack vibration you can fix that
with advice you had here but if it's the pad noise ( it's my case )
it's more hard to find a solution , i had in the past a kind of
rubber circle ( about 8 " ) with a adhesive on one side , it was made
for make remo practide pad mmore quiet , not sure that still exist
  today .
and even if i find that again today the rubber will may cause problem
  with the pad sensitivity ?
like i said once Yamaha and other Edrum have to understand that there
pad are not yet enough quiet for a apartment !
