On the hihat question, Try adjusting the 'decay' parameter. You need a 
longer decay than the stock closed sound. 
As for the other question, if you indeed are using a "dual zone" pad, 
you will need to use the 9/10 input. If, however, you are using a 
"stereo" pad PCY 80S, etc. Whwn in voice mode, strike the rim, and 
make sure it says 'Rim' in the display. Then set the sound you want.
Make sure you are using a stereo cable.
